Regular Board Of Education Meeting

High School Library, Monday, October 9, 2017 7 p.m.

Call to order:  Barb Whitney, President, called the meeting to order at 7 p.m.  Pledge of Allegiance was recited and Lundeen led in prayer.

Members present:  Barb Whitney, Mark Bergkamp, Steve Lundeen, Dave Snook, and Jamie Boese were present. Richie Dewell and Fred Boyd were not present. Others present were Corrie McDowell, Principal, Jeff Bollinger, Superintendent, Erica Littlewood-Rarden, Deputy Board Clerk.

Recognition of Visitors/Communication: Visitors present, Debbie Wise

Approve Consent Agenda: Bergkamp moved, seconded by Snook to approve the Consent Agenda.  Motion carried 5-0.

Reports: 

            Principal:  Mrs. McDowell

                        Enrollment numbers in CTE classes, SKI-CAN, Duel Credit Courses, and Work Study Program were discussed. An update was given on district committee meetings: ASPIRE, CTE Advisory, District Leadership, and Gemini. Additional items discussed include PBL Week, field trips, and student attendance.

           Economic Development, Jamie Boese, representative, gave her report 

Special Education, Mr. Bollinger  gave his report

Superintendent: Mr. Bollinger

            Discussed the Gemini Program; framework and community meeting.

            PBL Projects

DISCUSSION

Teacher Apartments: Mr. Bollinger met with the Fowler City Council regarding Teacher Apartments. Item will be revisited at a later date.    

ACTION

Water Fountains: Lundeen moved and seconded by Bergkamp to purchase two new water fountains; one for the grade school and one for the high school. Motion carried

 5-0 

Lundeen moved and seconded by Snook to go into executive session for 5 minutes. Motion carried 5-0.  8:18 p.m.

PERSONEL

Approvals/Acceptances: Snook moved to approve Jeff Bollinger as the Junior High Girls Basketball Coach. Boese seconded. Motion carried 5-0.

Adjournment:  A motion was made by Snook, seconded by Lundeen to adjourn the meeting.  Motion carried 5-0.  Time: 8:26 p.m.
