USD #225 Board of Education Meeting

June 10th, 2019, 7 p.m.

 

 

Call to order:  Barb Whitney, President, called the meeting to order at 7:04 p.m.  Pledge of Allegiance was recited and Whitney led in prayer.

Members present:  Barb Whitney, Fred Boyd, Ed Rarden, Tom Huelskamp, and Jennifer Bartlett were present. Others present were Jeff Bollinger, Superintendent, Corri McDowell, Principal, and Erica Rarden, Board Clerk. Richie Dewell and Jamie Boese were not present.

Recognition of Visitors/Communication: Sign-in sheet available.

Approve Consent Agenda: Boyd moved, seconded by Huelskamp to approve the Consent Agenda.  Motion carried 5-0.       

 

REPORTS        Principal:  Mrs. McDowell gave her report.

                              Economic Development, Jamie Boese, representative – Not present/No Report  

                        Special Education, Jamie Boese, representative – Not present/No report    

                             Superintendent, Mr. Bollinger gave his report.    

                       

Properties: Jeff Bollinger requested to go into executive session with the members of the board.  

Executive Session: Huelskamp moved and seconded by Rarden to go into executive session for 15 minutes and include the Superintendent to have preliminary discussions about the acquisition of real property. The session is required to protect the public interest in obtaining the property at a fair price. Motion carried 5-0.  7:19 p.m.

 

Resignation/New Hires: Bartlett moved, seconded Boyd to approve the resignations of Cheyenne Federau and Lindsay Martin; and to hire Chris Richardson as GS Administrative Assistant, Boyd Peterson II as Physical Education and Head HS Football Coach, and Taylin Bird as Head HS Boys Basketball Coach. Motion carried 5-0.

 

Executive Session: Huelskamp moved and seconded by Boyd to go into executive session for 10 minutes and include the superintendent to discuss personnel matters of nonelected personnel. This session is required to protect the privacy interests of the individual(s) to be discussed. Motion carried 5-0. 7:37 pm.

Whitney moved, seconded by Boyd to go into executive session for 10 minutes, including the Superintendent. Motion carried 5-0.  7:48 p.m.

Whitney moved, seconded by Boyd to go into executive session for 15 minutes, including the Superintendent and Principal. Motion carried 5-0. 7:59 p.m.

 

Adjournment:  A motion was made by Boyd, seconded by Huelskamp to adjourn the meeting.  Motion carried 5-0.  Time: 8:16 p.m.
