William Allen White Lock In

Photos Taken by Kelly Clark

Eight students in from both 5th and 6th grade participated in the William Allen White Lock In.  These students had to meet the requirement of reading the required number of books from the William Allen White list and pass the AR test at 80% or above in order to attend the reward lock in.  At the lock in, students went on a scavenger hunt around town, played marshmallow baseball, went gummy worm bobbing, had a contest to see who could hold an alka seltzer and ginger ale in their mouth the longest, played human battle ship, underground library, and flashlight hide and seek, nerf gun sniper, and elves, wizards, and giants.  The kids also enjoyed ice cream Sundays, pizza and many other snacks.  Students watched the movie Hugo and also got to preview the books on next year’s WAW list.  The lock in was from 8 pm to 7 am on Friday, April 27th.
