It is my pleasure to serve Fowler USD 225 as the superintendent of schools. The dedicated staff, hardworking students, and committed board of education members make my duties enjoyable. I came to Fowler from Columbus in the southeast corner of Kansas where I was principal of Central School, a grades 4-8 campus with approximately 400 students. Prior to moving to Columbus, I worked in the Fort Scott and Jayhawk-Linn districts as an English, debate, forensics, and journalism teacher/coach. I earned a B.S. Ed in English, M.S. in school administration, and district level certification from Pittsburg State University; I also attended the University of Arkansas, earning an Ed. D. in educational leadership. My husband, Scott, works for Natural Resources and Conservation Services, a division of USDA, as a Supervising District Conservationist where he oversees three counties. We have three children: Shiloh Williams who is a graduate of PSU and an engineer for Eagle-Picher; Kayleigh Williams who is a graduate student at PSU and assistant project manager for Crossland Construction; and Nick Thomas who is a junior at WSU majoring in mathematics and industrial engineering. I am fortunate to have a large extended family with seven siblings and their spouses, their children, and their children’s children. As a family, we enjoy gathering on our 120-acre “farm” where we really only grow grass and water. We love watching the deer and waterfowl on the ponds in the backyard while playing silly outdoor games and roasting hot dogs over the fire pit as the sun sets. Scott and I enjoy traveling and have been to virtually every state, including Alaska where I lived for three years in North Pole. We’ve also traveled to several foreign countries. When I can’t physically take adventures through travel, I love to read, especially in the winter when the cold forces me inside. In the spring, you’ll find me outside gardening during my free time. |
