Fowler USD 225 Response to Covid 19 (Coronavirus)

Fowler 225 Response to Covid 19 (Coronavirus)

This is to inform the Fowler public of measures in place at USD 225 in response to potential questions about Covid 19 (coronavirus). These measures will be adjusted to augment our procedures in addition to our daily cleaning routines.
Procedures that will begin immediately:
-Daily disinfecting of all doorknobs, desks and chairs
-Full building disinfecting with ionizer device twice per week
-Hand soap replaced with anti-bacterial hand soap
-Continued emphasis on hand washing
-We will also be discouraging hand to hand touching, handshakes, high fives and hand holding.

*Students or teachers with signs of illness will be excused from school. Any prolonged absence will require a distance schooling option but will still allow for credits to be earned.
The district is also currently working on solutions for sustained, off site, student education should the need arise.

The CDC prevention recommendations are as follows: Students stay home when sick until at least 24 hours after fever is gone without the use of fever-reducing medicine. *Students should cover coughs or sneezes with a bent arm or tissue and wash hands afterwards. *Students should wash hands with soap and water for 20 seconds, dry hands with a paper towel, and use the paper towel to turn off the faucet. Students should try to keep hands away from nose, mouth, and eyes and avoid sharing food, drinks, cosmetics or personal care items (lip balm, eye drops, etc.). *Students should use an alcohol based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available. Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces is highly recommended.

Thank you.
