USD #225 Board of Education Special Meeting
January 27, 2020, 6:30 P.M.
Call to order: T.J. Milford, Board President, called the meeting to order at 6:29 p.m.
Members present: T.J. Milford, Fred Boyd, Ed Rarden, Jamie Boese, Kimberly Copenhaver, Cathy Heinz, and Tom Huelskamp were present. Others present Erica Rarden, Board Clerk and Corri McDowell, Principal.
Recognition of Visitors/Communication: Emily Dizmang, Kimberly McLachlan, David Adams, Catalina Zortman, Tammy Bollinger, Debbie Wise, Jan Brock, and Dana Waters.
Discussion:
Principal Q&A Session: Board requested PK-12 principal’s perception of her current position and duties.
KASB Representative Presentation: Sue Givens, KASB Field Services Specialist, outlined the process and timeline for the upcoming superintendent search. Givens presented the 2019 Superintendent Search Resource Notebook, the search outline, and specific timeline of activities.
Meeting dates agreed upon:
KASB Characteristic Study will be conducted and presented to the board on February 10, 2020, to include personal focus group meetings and online survey.
On March 2, 2020 the BOE will meet to hear the report of the KASB screening committee. From there, the BOE will select applicant finalists and begin the interviewing process.
March BOE meeting will be moved from March 9, 2020 to March 2, 2020.
Adjournment: A motion was made by Rarden, seconded by Copenhaver to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried 7-0. Time: 8:19 p.m.
