USD #225 Board of Education Meeting

October 22, 2020, 7:00 P.M.  

Via Zoom

Call to order:  T.J. Milford, Board President, called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. 

Members present: Fred Boyd, Ed Rarden, Kimberly Copenhaver, Jared Weber, Tom Huelskamp, and T.J. Milford were present. Cathy Heinz was not present. Others present were Cherie Nicholson, Superintendent, Corri McDowell, Principal, and Erica Rarden, Board Clerk.

Recognition of Visitors/Communication: None

DISCUSSION

Maintenance Truck: 1989 Chevy truck used by the maintenance department is currently open to receive closed bids until October 30, 2020. A replacement GMC Sierra truck has been purchased to replace the older Chevy truck. No motion needed.

PERSONNEL

JH Basketball Coaches:

Huelskamp moved, seconded by Copenhaver to hire Jennifer Faurot for the position of Head JH Girls Basketball coach. Motion carried 6-0.

Weber moved, seconded by Copenhaver to hire Dennis McDowell for the position of assistant JH girls and boys basketball coach. Motion carried 6-0.

EXECUTIVE SESSION

Milford moved, seconded by Boyd to go into executive session for 7 minutes to discuss non-elected personnel under KOMA, board and superintendent. This session is required to protect the privacy interests of the individual(s) to be discussed. Motion carried 6-0. 7:15 p.m.

Adjournment:  A motion was made by Weber, seconded by Huelskamp to adjourn the meeting.  Motion carried 6-0.  Time: 7:23 p.m.
