February 28, 2020, 7:00 P.M.
Call to order: T.J. Milford, Board President, called the meeting to order at 6:58 p.m.
Members present: Fred Boyd, Ed Rarden, Kimberly Copenhaver, Cathy Heinz, Tom Huelskamp and TJ Milford were present. Others present were Jeff Bollinger, Superintendent, Corri McDowell, Principal, and Erica Rarden, Board Clerk. Jamie Boese was not present.
Recognition of Visitors/Communication: Kimberly McLachlan, Emily Dizmang, Tammy Bollinger, and Charlie Littlewood
Executive Session
Rarden moved, seconded by Copenhaver to go into executive session for 15 minutes, board only, to discuss personnel matters of non-elected personnel exception under KOMA. This session is required to protect the privacy interests of the individual(s) to be discussed. Motion carried 6-0. 6:59 p.m.
Heinz moved, seconded by Copenhaver to go into executive session for 10 minutes, board only. Motion carried 6-0. 7:15 p.m. McDowell and Jeff Bollinger were invited into executive session at 7:23 p.m.
Milford moved, seconded by Boyd to go into executive session for 10 minutes, including McDowell and Bollinger. Motion carried 6-0. 7:26 p.m.
Milford moved, seconded by Huelskamp to go into executive session for 5 minutes, including McDowell and Bollinger. Motion carried 6-0. 7:36 p.m.
Copenhaver moved, seconded by Heinz to go into executive session for 10 minutes, including McDowell and Bollinger. Motion carried 6-0. 7:42 p.m. Bollinger and McDowell exited executive session at 7:48 p.m.
Copenhaver moved, seconded by Heinz to go into executive session for 15 minutes, board only. Motion carried 6-0. 7:53 p.m.
Copenhaver moved, seconded by Heinz to go into executive session for 15 minutes, board and McDowell. Motion carried 6-0. 8:06 p.m.
Boyd moved, seconded by Copenhaver to go into executive session for 15 minutes, board and McDowell. Motion carried 6-0. 8:22 p.m. McDowell exited executive session at 8:34 p.m.
Copenhaver moved, seconded by Huelskamp to go into executive session for 10 minutes. Motion carried 6-0. 8:38 p.m.
Milford moved, seconded by Copenhaver to go into executive session for 5 Minutes. Motion carried 6-0. 8:49 p.m.
Personnel
Contract Renewals:
Copenhaver moved, seconded by Huelskamp to approve the contract renewal for Grace Powell for the position of Preschool teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. Motion carried 6-0.
Huelskamp moved, seconded by Boyd to approve the contract renewal for Brittany Carrillo for the position of kindergarten teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. Motion carried 6-0.
Rarden moved, seconded by Huelskamp to approve the contract renewal for Emily Dizmang for the position of 1st grade teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. Motion carried 6-0.
Huelskamp moved, seconded by Boyd to approve the contract renewal for Jennifer Faurot for the position of 2nd grade teacher (initial year) for the 2020-2021 school year. Motion carried 6-0.
Rarden moved, seconded by Copenhaver to approve the contract renewal for Kimberly McLachlan for the position of 3rd/4th grade teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. Motion carried 6-0.
Rarden moved, seconded by Copenhaver to approve the contract renewal for Donna Norman for the position of 5th grade teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. Motion carried 6-0.
Huelskamp moved, seconded by Copenhaver to approve the contract renewal for Debra Wise for the position of title services for the 2020-2021 school year. Motion carried 6-0.
Copenhaver moved, seconded by Huelskamp to approve the contract renewal for Tammy Bollinger for the position of 6th grade teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. Motion carried 6-0.
Boyd moved, seconded by Huelskamp to approve the contract renewal for Taylor Bollinger for the position of secondary math teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. Motion carried 5-1 (Rarden).
Rarden moved, seconded by Hulskamp to approve the contract renewal for David Adams for the position of secondary science teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. Motion carried 6-0.
Copenhaver moved, seconded by Boyd to approve the contract renewal for Megan Adams for the position of secondary language arts teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. Motion carried 6-0.
Huelskamp moved, seconded by Copenhaver to approve the contract renewal for Susan Flax for the position of secondary art/business teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. Motion carried 6-0.
Rarden moved, seconded by Copenhaver to approve the contract renewal for Cord Moss for the position of secondary industrial arts teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. Motion carried 6-0.
Boyd moved, seconded by Copenhaver to approve the contract renewal for Boyd Peterson for the position of PE teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. Motion carried 6-0.
Rarden moved, seconded by Huelskamp to approve the contract renewal for Ashley Boe for the position of music teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. Motion carried 6-0.
Rarden moved, seconded by Copenhaver to accept the resignation of Kristen Gipson effective the end of the 2019-2020 school year. Motion carried 6-0.
Discussion
Open Positions: The board discussed and will list a secondary math position, and upper level elementary position.
Supplemental Contract: Heinz moved, seconded by Copenhaver to approve Saul Medina for the JH/HS assistant track coach. Motion carried 6-0.
Adjournment: A motion was made by Huelskamp, seconded by Copenhaver to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried 6-0. Time: 9:02 p.m.
