USD #225 Board of Education Special Meeting
March 28, 2022, 7:00 P.M.
Call to order: T.J. Milford, Board President, called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Pledge of Allegiance was recited and Bartezko led a prayer.
Members present: TJ Milford, Cathy Heinz, Fred Boyd, Kim Copenhaver, and Dana Bartezko were present. Others present were Cherie Nicholson, Superintendent, and Erica Littlewood, Board Clerk.
Members not present: Jared Weber & Jeff Zortman
Recognition of Visitors/Communication: Debbie Wise, Kim McLachlan, Zachary McLachlan, and Santana De Avila

Personnel - Resignation
DISCUSSION
Audit Report – Milford moved, seconded by Heinz to approve the audit report as presented by Pat Friess on March 21, 2022. Motion carried 5-0.
Kennedy, McKee, and Associates Engagement Letter – Bartezko moved, seconded by Heinz to approve the engagement letter confirming the services of Kennedy, McKee and Associates for the year ended June 30, 2022. Motion carried 5-0.
BOE Member Resignation – Milford moved, seconded by Boyd to accept the resignation of Jared Weber in his position of member of USD 255 Board of Education. Motion carried 5-0.
BOE Open Seat Advertisement – Copenhaver moved, seconded by Boyd to approve the advertisement of the open board seat. Motion carried 5-0.
Jeff Zortman joined the meeting at 7:14 p.m.
Contracted Service Agreement USD 225 & 226 – Discussion only. No motion made.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
Milford moved, seconded by Heinz to go into executive session for 5 minutes to discuss non-elected personnel under KOMA, board and Nicholson. This session is required to protect the privacy interests of the individual(s) to be discussed. Motion carried 6-0. 8:56 p.m.
PERSONNEL
Resignation – Milford moved, seconded by Zortman to accept the resignation of Cherie Nicholson effective June 30, 2022. Motion carried 6-0.
Adjournment – Copenhaver moved, seconded by Boyd to adjourn meeting. Motion carried 6-0 9:07 p.m.
