Board Meeting

Mrs. Leiker’s Report

1.  Computer Lab

            The second computer lab is nearly complete.  It has been painted, furniture moved in, and computers are set up and in the process of being updated.  It will be available by state assessment time.

2.  Positive Behavior Supports

            Teachers and students created a behavior adage and matrix.  The next step is collecting data on behaviors so we can address specific needs.  There will be more training Feb 20.

3.  State Assessments

            We are borrowing from several schools and doing all testing seventh through twelfth in three and a half days.  Each day will be filled with activities between testing sessions.  This reduces disruption in access to the computer lab, reduces the time out of class, and, hopefully, increases students’ focus on the assessment.  Other schools have had good results with this schedule.  We have high expectations.

4.  Evaluations

            Evaluations of tenured teachers are complete.  The next evaluation is the second part of non-tenured teachers.

5.  Harshberger Seed

            The plaque is finished.  Patrick was contacted and Harshberger’s preference was to pick up the plaque in the office with no ceremony. 

6.  Next Year’s Class Schedule

            Next Year’s class schedule is being finalized so students can pre-enroll at the March conferences.  Keyboarding was been moved down to seventh grade this year.  Kansas History is in the process of being moved to junior high.  Computer class is in the process of moving earlier than the sophomore year.

7.  Stuco and Forensics

            Stuco is selling Love Bug Valentines.  Andrea, Brianna, Marshall, Alexis and Eryn have qualified for festival.

8.  Yearbook

            Bob Parker helped the yearbook staff obtain and train on new photography equipment.

9.  Dance Team

            There is some interest in a dance team next year.
